Teenage crush

Many years ago I played euphonium in the school band. We often needed a second (or it may have just been better!) euphonium so a lad called Stephen would be co-opted. He was amazing - his playing was beautiful, he was handsome and I was so in awe of his loveliness that I was barely able to say a word to him! For three years I sat next to him when he joined the school band and occasionally in other bands too.
This evening we went to see Squeeze and there he was playing keyboards and the most fabulous accordion solo I have ever heard. I’m still in awe of him. Luckily there was no opportunity to speak to him so I didn’t have to worry about being too in love to be able to speak!
