Pumping goo

For the last few days the street between us and the wharf has been busy with heavy machines. They seem to be filling in potholes and resurfacing the road with some kind of black goo which doesn’t look like bitumen. The stick insect pipes seem to be transferring the goo from a tanker to the opposite side of the road. The operation is supervised by quite a number of people in hi vis vests.
