Looking Downstream……
……. This morning. The mats of plants on the surface of the Taylor River are “Ranunculus tricophillus”…….Aka “Threadleaf Crowfoot” or “Water Buttercup”.
A bright and beautiful early morning with lots of my dog-walking friends and their dogs out and about. This view looks downstream towards the Beaver Road Footbridge. Flax is freshly flowering in the middle of the image.
A busy day of gardening. I was cutting down a Cecil Bruner rose. Suckers had grown up from its stump and it had gone wild and was crowding out a Michelia and a small hydrangea. I will leave a small part of the rose, also known as the “Sweetheart Rose”. The flowers are tiny and the buds beautiful. But it is the most vigorous rose I have ever known.
