A rare visit from a thrush
I was standing in our dining room when I saw this thrush land on the trellis fence right beneath the suet pellet bird feeder, obviously hoping to find food that had fallen down. I knew any big movement by me to grab a camera would scare it off as birds can see in through the glass patio doors.
My phone was in my pocket but before I had got it out and set it up the thrush flew a few yards to the tree just beyond the steps down to the patio. I managed to zoom in but seconds later it was away, not to be seen again, yet.
We don't see thrushes very often, so I assume they are getting short of food in the wilder areas near us.
