Frosted leaves
Another bright cold morning, maybe the last of this phase of weather. I thought about a walk to make the most if it but Chris came in from defrosting the car to warn me that there was black ice on the drive. It seemed to be on most of the hard surfaces including the garden steps. We were lucky yesterday as it wasn’t icy underfoot. When I went to bed last night there was a fine precipitation which I think must have made an icy covering every where.
Chris went into Bingley and said Lidl’s car park was like an ice rink so I decided not to go out.
It felt quite pleasant in the sun so I decided to rake up the last of the Magnolia leaves which have fallen this week. I spotted the frost sparkling on some of the leaves that were in the sun so decided that could be my blip. Not many flowers around for flower Friday, the Cosmos have finally succumb to the cold but there are promising buds on the Christmas cacti that may provide a blip another week.
Warnings everywhere for storm Bert this weekend, it may cause snow or even blizzards when it comes into contact with the cold air before it turns to heavy rain and brings us some respite from this bitter cold.
Happy weekend everyone, hope our singers have a great time in Ripon cathedral this afternoon and tomorrow, we did back in April.
