Ruby

A little bit of an EB. These poplars last week were loaded with leaves. Today, pretty much bare.

My favorite news of today was meeting Ruby, a senior at a southern Oregon high school. For her senior project that she needs to graduate, she wants to put together a collection of her poetry, possibly into a book. Her English teacher suggested me for her mentor for the project. We FaceTimed for a half hour, and we both came away pumped for the project. Ruby is extremely bright, on her way to valedictorian of her class, has been accepted to the University of Oregon already, and wants to be a math teacher. Right now, she wants to be a poet, and I am excited to be here to help her. Fun to be teaching again, in some way.
