The first flower this year from a rose that originally graced an old miner's cottage in Lithgow, late 1800s-early 1900s. I don't know its name, but I let it remind me of life in mining hubs of that era - a hard life where the beauty of such a rose might be a welcome solace to the daily grind of both men and women.
