Not what we needed!

Our exciting weekend was meant to be a visit to our dearest friends so we could all go to the Christmas Lights at Kew Gardens. It has been planned like a military operation for months.

Miss H is back at work after maternity leave so had to apply for annual leave for the weekend,  Tickets for 11 of us purchased, breakfast arranged with some mutual friends while we were in the localities and much anticipation of a lovely weekend together.

Miss H and family travelled down yesterday, as I was working yesterday we were leaving at 0530 this morning. Yesterday, Steph - who coincidentally works for Kew Gardens - said there was a high possibility that Kew could be closed today because of the forecast of high winds, but the decision would be taken this morning.

Last night Mr H and I decided that given our local forecast and the risk of Kew being closed we would make the decision not to go. 

When we awoke this morning and looked out of the window there was no doubt we’d made the right decision!

Hugely disappointed, but we are safe , warm, and have an unexpected weekend at home which hopefully I can make the most of with some housework!
