Present

This is what I bought my Mum for her birthday tomorrow. I got it back in May while we were visiting a craft shop (we've been before and bought things there) when on holiday in Ironbridge. I'll post the reverse tomorrow as I have no 'extras' available to use. The brooch is crafted from an original penny and the date of it is the year of my Mum's birth.
I went to Mum's today and we had a good catch-up. After that I nipped into town and while there I found myself in the Hospice Shop where two used books leapt into my hands and so I had to buy them.
It has rained all day and some of the roads were already flooded this morning. In town, some parts of the indoor shopping centre had a lot of wet floor warning signs and another part was cordoned off completely as it was raining in. What a mess our town is.
I only slept just over 4 hours last night due to the weather (very windy and heavy rain, storm Bert) and I tried a nap this afternoon but it didn't work due to a yapping dog next door - it's not even their dog, they are minding it, but it has barked incessantly for long periods today - maybe it's when it is left alone, who knows. They have minded it before and I don't recall it being yappy, so it's strange. Perhaps it's not the same dog!
