Plates of Ice

Where the boat covers sag, there lies water. In summer they provide an interesting, if slimy, algal habitat. Removing an 'old growth' cover feels like embracing a large dead frog and often results in a sizeable slosh of greeny water over unsuspecting feet.
In winter they solidify into ice puddles. This one has formed a bubble as it has expanded and looks more like an anaemic poached egg or a chilly jellyfish. Both cold and warm scenarios cause rot and damage
I spent a ticklish half hour securing a beam under the cover of the Omega Training Boat to make a ridge and prevent this happening. But Storm Bert might just consider I've given him a way in to lift the whole thing off. We shall see.
