Dolly's Day

SNOWY ALLOTMENT VIEW

Looked out of my bedroom window at around 8am to see blizzard conditions and a lot of snow had fallen already.  Went back to bed and later on at around 11am I looked out again at the scene in my blip shot.  It was calmer and like a winter wonderland. Ive added an extra collage. 3photos I took  around 8am.....front garden, a collared dove in the back garden and the front window - with the window bed... no takers today.  Also a shot of the snowy rooftops at the back later in the day.

I debated whether to go to the village. There were problems on the roads earlier with cars getting stuck and abandoned and accidents etc. But the roads seemed OK  around 2.30pm according to reports on the local Facebook village page. I thought the paths would be OK to walk on so I set off pulling my shopping trolley.  Bad idea.  The paths were a combination of packed down snow, ice, slush and huge puddles as the snow was beginning to melt  After walking for a while I decided to get a bus.  I waited at the nearest bus stop and a bus came along in a couple of mins.  Bit of a walk from the bus stop in the village to the shops but it was " on the flat " and easier to walk than downhill. Round by the shops the paths had mostly been cleared so that was OK  Did the shopping and picked up a parcel then got a bus home.  My boots weren't waterproof unfortunately and my socks were soaking wet.  Got straight into my PJ's and put the gas fire on in the front room to warm up.  Felt better after a hot cup of coffee ( and a chocolate bar ).

No football for Newcastle fans today - the team play on Monday evening. Its a home game but I'm not going.  Ive already transferred my ticket to Neil.  Evening games in November do not float my boat.

Steps today - 5,179
