Winter wonderland……

A wee bit wild this morning.
High winds and drifting snow . Did the first couple of fields of cattle with the quad bike as usual but decided the landrover with a heater was the best option for the rest.
Had to call wee brother to help me calve a cow . Luckily she was one of the ones I’d shut in the shed on Thursday.
It didn’t take that much of a pull to get it out but it’s one of those dopey floppy kind . I’ve stomach tubed it with colostrum twice but it’s still not looking great tonight. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s dead in the morning. Just to complicate things, another saler x cow has just calved next to it and she’s a wee bit motherly , which made it interesting trying to tube the other one tonight.
Got there eventually, and still alive to tell the tale.
The snow has turned to rain and the wind is getting back up so a lot of water everywhere now . Back to mess everywhere.
