The Big Reveal

Ms H and I have been preparing this weekend for a couple of months, often with a fair bit of stress. With yesterday as the intro, to ease Mrs C into our surprise weekend, today was a step up... although Storm Bert decided to stick his oar in!

The Family P had assembled, and although Dundee was escaping most of Bertie, it was windy and rainy so our initial plans were changed to meet in a cafe for for her surprise.  The rain eased so we had a wander through the city centre before stopping for some drinks then back to the hotel for a dry out. Taxis took us to the outskirts of Dundee for a karting experience which was very very fun - it's been 30 years since I last did it!

Back to the hotel again to freshen up then out to The Selkie for dinner, tapas, and that was much fun again. Finally off to Grouchos Music Bar for some drinks... Grouchos was the record store when we were at college here 40 years ago but seemed to have survived until 2020. The music was loud and good and there was a band, the walls covered in album covers for us to recognise. We left the kids for a drink or 2 as we are up early tomorrow to do the activity we were supposed to do first thing today.

What a fun day, relieved it went well.
