Dance into the Light

We saw the movie Bonhoeffer Friday afternoon with blipper comments only and it was powerful. Not entirely accurate but still got the basics right.—- it’s dubious whether Bonhoeffer (a pacifist) was actually involved in an assassination plot to kill Hitter , but he probably knew of it.
The film included his friend (Martin Neimoller) and fellow pastor’s famous quote that Ive always loved ….”first they came for the socialist’s, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist, then they came for the trade unionists , and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist, and then the came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to steal out.” There are differing version of this quote as Neimoller repeated it in differing forms when he spoke . Still overall a poignant film for the times.
