Overhead Cables

An emergency blip, taken on Wednesday, as a busy Saturday in work with the yucky weather.

Remains of an old wall plaque warning of electricity carrying cables overhead. It's mounted beneath the little bridge above which sits the platform of my local rail station on the Manchester to Glossop/Hadfield line.

Because I'm honest, here's the very necessary Edit ;-D

The cable runs underground, as denoted by the large arrow pointing down ;-D

Am a little bemused by its purpose as the 'cables overhead' are the 'overhead cables' that power the trains, and the chances of someone pointing a long pole skywards near enough to touch them with a viaduct, trackbed & station platform either side in the way is pretty unlikely.

"It's Elf & Safety Gone Mad" might not be such a recent thing ;-D
