Battoned Down Hatches

Bert battered on all day. Starting with sleet turning to rain with high winds all day.
There’s been a lot of disruption from flooding to snow blocking roads. Wind has caused problems for the West Coast main line too. Consequently, Will eventually arrived home from London via Newcastle. He’ll get his Avanti West Coast ticket reimbursed as that service was cancelled.
Mum took us out to Lanercost Tea Rooms. There was lots of water on the road.
A combination of sweet potato soup and cheese scones were snaffled. I bought treats for later.
I made a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner for our evening meal. It’s been a good day in spite of the weather.
