Flying the Flag

This morning I couldn't find my glasses! Minstrel woke me up to feed him and I thought he must have knocked them off the bedside table. Brian fed him as I couldn't see, and we went back to sleep for a while since it was early.

Once it was time to get up properly I had a proper look for the glasses, and still couldn't find them! I got Brian to look since he could see properly, but still they were nowhere. That was when we remembered I'd left them downstairs last night...

It was very wet and windy out, but no longer cold. We put washing on and had some had breakfast.  After eating I noticed that the rain had stopped and it looked slightly brighter out so I suggested a walk to the park to look for Blips as it was about as good as it would probably get today.

There were a few people in the Arboretum: lads playing Frisbee, other photographers, people just walking and of course, dog walkers.

During lockdown, when people were allowed to socialise outside, they started a little informal chat group at the bandstand, mostly for people living alone to have some company. It is still going on now and it's their yellow flag that is flying in the very strong breeze.

Following our walk we decided to go do the shopping. It was hectic again in Tesco. If you stopped to look at anything you could bring the whole aisle you were in to a standstill! Which we did a couple of times. Maybe we'll go on Monday next week rather than weekend when it's hopefully less chaotic.

We're watching football now. Southampton are giving Liverpool a run for their money but Liverpool now have a penalty so they'll probably get away with it.

Man U are next, playing Ipswich for Ruben Amorin's first game as manager. From what I've seen and heard, I like the cut of his gib! Time will tell... I hope it is not another false dawn.

Next week will be all about getting downstairs cleaned, tidied and ready for the Christmas decorations to go up at the weekend!
