Storm Bert

Yesterday was bad enough but it certainly ramped up a notch today with a 4am wake up call with a massive thud and the house alarm going off.

Turned out the wooden front to the window lintel had fallen off (my blip is where it landed on the patio and the lintel itself is in extras).

Then we had a fun journey getting to Chipping Norton to watch Gladiator 2. 

First of all another tree had fallen in the village blocking one route out - this was after two other trees had blocked both routes out of the village first thing!

Then there were numerous flooded roads to drive through only to get to the outskirts of Chippy to find the road impassable!

More flooded roads on the back roads but we eventually got to the cinema only to discover the show was cancelled as their electrics/projector were rain damaged!

Tried a different way home as we thought it would be higher but had to turn around twice and went through a flood that proved too much for one car!

Anyway we're safe and sound back at home ... though we've two massive leaks as well as the lintel to deal with ...
