Leyland Atlanteans

I saw my first Leyland Atlantean in late 1961. I was out on my bogie (soapbox) on a long steep footpath by the side of the A1 near Ferryhill. In the gloom I saw three funny shaped double decker buses coming round the roundabout. I’d never seen anything like them before, normally buses had half cabs with the engines at the front, these were totally different. A school friend explained what they were and that they were a brand new design. About 2 years later Dinky Toys brought out a model of one but I could never afford them.
The one in this blip is a real scrapper but it will get repainted sometime. Alongside is one I kit built about 8 years ago. Thanks to BLIPPER John RH for encouraging this entry!
