Easier said than done

Windy and wet in the extreme today. Not a lot to feel good about. The roofing felt of the terrace half blew off and the gazebo tried to fly in the high winds so I was up on a ladder in my pyjamas for a while, and tying things down with steel cable thereafter.  

Finished reading Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway. SPOILER ALERT!!!

Enjoyable but a little too long. Incredibly over the top, written by a lover of London in all its grimy glory. Steroidal steampunk for the 21st century. But thank god for a happy ending where the villain is defeated and the hero gets the girl. I can’t cope with realism in a world where reality is so awful.
