over the mountains

although you have to - take my word for it - that they’re actually - flying over the mountains - but those of you who - know me, know my view - is of the mountain range - and this sighting is - a rare one at that - typically i get to - see geese taking flight - perhaps several times a year - if i am fortunate - it all depends on timing - they might make it more - often than that and it’s - just that i don’t see them

but when i do - it’s a joyful treat - i hear them before - seeing them; that wonderful - honking of theirs alerting - one and all yet a form - of communication between all of them - it gives me precious moments - to grab a camera and prepare - for them to come zipping - around the rooftops of the buildings - in this case i believe - i missed the biggest gaggle - ending up with only - a few last stragglers which is fine with me - any is better than none - for they are all glorious - leading as always to…
