Jason and the Tree

We put the CHRISTmas tree up at church today after the service. I say we...I didn't help much, eating soup, running to the store for hooks, and watching the Detroit Lions up on the big screen.

It was a bittersweet moment watching Jason helping the ladies raise the tree. His wife Rachel was our chief holiday decorator, our Queen of Christmas. She just loved Christmas and famously said..."if you can see any of the green on the tree...then you haven't got enough decorations on it."

But, things happen. Rachel got cancer and passed away last October at the age of 51. Sad, very sad, leaving behind Jason and 3 sons. 

Emotionally, Jason couldn't help last Christmas, but he bravely showed up today to assist. Like I say...bittersweet.
