Keizoku
This morning we headed over to the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility for Judo Scotland's "Keizoku" event.
Storm Bert was dumping sleety snow while we were on our way, and parts of the M8 were pretty slippy so we were down to 20 or 30mph. We saw one car that had gone off into the greenery, although it didn't look like anyone was hurt. We made it safely!
Keizoku is a non-competitive Judo meet to get kids used to meeting and playing Judo with others outside their clubs as a step towards competing. CyclopsJnr had a whale of a time. They did fun warmups and games and played a few relaxed rounds of Judo with people at a similar level, all under the supervision of some lovely coaches who made it feel like a warm and welcoming event. There was even a goody bag at the end of it with a certificate, T-shirt, post and pencil case. The T-Shirt has the names of all the participants on the back - CyclopsJnr was pretty excited to have his name on a T-shirt!
We had lunch at a pub nearby which was lovely, and by the time we headed home there was still snow around but the roads were pretty clear.
