And … it’s home again!
The Bangkok experience continued to impress at the airport. What a HUGE place that is! I got my chariot, and it makes life so much easier - we were up and down lifts, on a train to another part of the airport, and walked miles! JR was delighted, as she’s been missing her brisk walks. I don’t want to sound too gleeful about having assistance, because of course, I’d rather I was able to do it under my own steam, but I really did enjoy it.
The Qatar Lounge was the best we’ve ever been to - peaceful, tasteful surroundings, hot and cold food which was continuously replenished. And we tucked in, not having had anything since our very modest breakfast (muesli, yoghurt, coffee). This homeward journey is not as long as the outward one - just a 7 hour hop, then an 8 hour hop. Not even worth getting into the provided (White Company) pyjamas. I must say, the ‘fresh fruit’ for breakfast was NOT the luscious selection that we’ve been used to of late.
Now we’ve got organised, half the washing done, suitcases packed away again. I popped to the shop for some milk for my coffee, and sadly, I saw more litter in the walk there than I saw in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok combined!!!
We picked up Archie in the afternoon, and he gave us his usual low-key welcome, though he’s been very playful now that he’s home.
We had a fabulous holiday, but yes, it’s good to be home. And it’s not too cold!
