Ready for the off

We had a drive over to Sheringham after lunch for a bit of a walk along the Prom and a couple of things we needed from the shops.  Chilly, but quite pleasant after the storms of the last couple of days.

These three Black Headed Gulls did synchronised take-offs as we walked along but I managed to capture this shot just before Gull No 1 took off, poised with one foot ready to go.  In winter they lose the black colouring on their head and are just left with a couple of dark spots behind the eye.
