Dyeing with Goldenrod
Dyeing wool was my fun activity of the day, but this is not a very good picture, as the yellows just don't show right. Anyway, I collected the Goldenrod flowers along the roadside and next to my house. The lighter yellow is from flowers that just started to bloom yesterday. The darker is from flowers that bloomed a couple of days ago.
If I decide the color isn't brilliant enough after it dries, I can pick another batch of flowers and dye these again.
One of the things I like so much about dyeing, particularly with plants, is that it is so unpredictable.
