“Toad in the hole”

After surviving an interesting visit from Burt in the early hours ( which apparently puffed out some short gusts upwards of 70 miles an hour) Dippy and I headed down towards the wooded area, on the way Dippy was overwhelmed by something in the grass in the caravan storage area. In closer inspection I realised that it was a toad, I’m not sure whether it was escaping from Dippy or looking for Noahs arc. Anyway I managed to distract the editable puppy and we splashed down the water-meadows armed with stream unblocking kit (Hazel walking stick/staff.), the stream has been left to its own devices, it is eating away at the surrounding area.
Some diversionary activity by the two mud larks who inhabit Amadeus enjoyed a couple of hours playing in the water and have hopefully helped drain some of the surrounding areas and increased the flow of water into the Atlantic Ocean.
In return and several towels later we headed of to Bideford where I had seen some excellent discounts on outdoor wear.
In fact the merino top was reduced by 50% and the store had one size S, perfect.
Dippy performed his usual antics playing the innocent terrorist puppy and ending up with a doggy treat from most of the shops that he terrorised! We met a retired shepherd who was in charge of 2,800 sheep, such a peaceful and friendly man together with his rosy cheeked wife they glowed with gratitude.
Homeward bound we both enjoyed a big bowl of oxtail broth with dumplings and maybe a mince pie and cream.
Listening to the radio in between the rain bouncing off the roof knowing that we were warm and dry the gratitude for another day was sent to the necessary receiver.
Zzzzzz
