Those clouds in the sky!

Dusk arrives earlier and earlier by the day... 5 PM I walked here and little later the sun disappeared behind the hills in the left from this scene across the Chania Gulf... bordered by the Peninsula Rodopou what's in the rear of this panorama. And it's the clouds that triggered me to make this blip... catching the golden light from sunset and filling the blue sky with their shapes and light and shadows.

The kidney shaped greens up front was once upon a time the swimmingpool of Hotel Xenia; realized in 1970 by the Junta government of then; they'd set out a chain of Xenia Hotels all over Greece then (the Junta government was ended 50 years ago. This Xenia Hotel was demolished in 2007, as the Archeological Organisation had won Court battles, that the grounds where the hotel was built upon should be examined by the archeologists; thus happened and the Archeological Organisation in Greece is powerful plus people who want to build do not welcome them, with the delays and demands they make. 
Anyway, Xenia's pool is filled eversince with soil and seeds ~ it's only the elder tourists who remember there was a swimmingpool on that spot and a hotel a little further on (built then upon the old city wall).

The stone dykes what show here are also from the turn of the century... 

Sweetheart consulted his doctor this morning and while he was there (an hour and more) I waited outdoors, did a little shopping and tested my patience. My Benjamin son, was alright with the cats around him! 

friday coming I will sail to Athens, got my tickets today and brought a print of my photo's from from last week  to the fishermen and they were surprised and pleased with them ... lovely they welcomed them.
