Something's missing
Asked at the doctors surgery if it was possible for a nurse to check John's arm... "Thursday is the first available appointment".
Down to CK. Arrived just in time. The table laid for visitors. A beautiful morning so got a load of laundry going while I made Mum's breakfast. Found a pair of deconstructed "continental" pants in the bathroom wash basin. Blimey! No wonder they're absorbent. All the "stuff" had expanded into a huge mass. :-(
Walked Indie across the heath in glorious sunshine & clear blue sky.
Window cleaner had been, so nipped back to pay him.
Pegged the laundry out. Rang a local electrician to ask if he could check a problem at Mum's. He's working flat out so will be a few days before he can visit so I explained what was wrong. Fingers crossed Wed/Thursday.
Pulled out the summer bedding in the pots & trough, pruned the fuchsias back..
Time to make Mum's lunch. Smoked haddock, baby new potatoes & peas. She did'nt enjoy the fish, so that won't be appearing on the menu again.
I suddenly realised that I had'nt seen Mum's glasses this morning, & so began the search.. I found the sugar spoon, that had been missing for days in her bedside table along with a bra & socks. I came across a walking stick, also missing for days, wedged between the arms of the sofa & chair Then realised I had'nt seen the TV remote either. I looked everywhere, many of them twice. Walked back into the kitchen diner, gave Mum her pud. Where have'nt I looked?? Behind the microwave.. Da-dah! 2 pairs of glasses in their cases, one of which also had the TV remote.
Then it began to rain, quickly picked in the laundry got it on the airer. Time fir me to go.
Drove out to BT, topped up petrol, then home.
Late lunch - peanut butter on toast.
Remembered we needed to cut off the outside water supply in case of frost, so did that before rearranging the garden furniture Storm Bert had battered about.
Prepared dinner.. Meatless Monday so a chunky vegetable soup with crusty bread.
