A 3-D Diversion. Leitz Summicron 50mm DR
In 17th and 18th Century opera a divertissement was a light instrumental interlude, often involving dance, which was used to break up the musical weight of the opera's vocal and dramatic complexities.
And so, in the same manner, this is a little divertissement from the ongoing Blanket Chest project, soon to be revealed. Here, I am joining what will be a handle at a 35° angle to a laminated collar. There is much clean-up, carving, scraping and sanding ahead. The finished product and its purpose will also be revealed soon!
