Harz - Wernigerode, day 1/3

I'm off to the Harz in Germany this weekend. Together with friend Richard, I left Delfzijl around 08:15 for our photo weekend.
We left with lots of snow, but unfortunately before we even reached Bremen, all the snow had vanished. Better for driving of course, but for the photos I'd hoped for a white world. But, who knows what we'll will find.

Via Leer, Bremen, Hannover, Braunschweig, we reached our hotel/pension Alte Kutschenbauer, in Wernigerode. Right in the middle of the so called Alt Stadt, the historical town centre. It turned out the Christmasmarket had just opened today. Lots of people, and lots of Christmas atmosphere.
But before we dived into that, we first climbed mountain Agnesberg for a stunning view over the city and its castle. The first photo's were taken here. Great.

When the darkness set in, we climbed down again and went into town for dinner. We ended up at La Rustica, where we had a nice pizza and also an extensive conversation with the Romanian owner, who sat down with us. About DJI drones, H'nda- motorcycles, the importance of cash money and stupid Dutch people wanting to buy gas from Romania nowadays.
I skipped that topic mostly, and just let the man talk. When our pizzas arrived, he left.

Anyway, the pizza was nice and our weekend is off to a good start!
