Wasdale Head
I thought it prudent not to go far today and then I remembered I had to go to Carlisle. That was it. Back home to check Blip and answer comments. Here is another from the other day when snow was evident. This is the head of the Wasdale valley, a farm, a climber's shop and a hotel. The valley is famed for the smallest church (St Olaf's, deepest lake, highest mountain and the biggest liar. This last one is a yearly competition where 'tall' stories are read. Each year local farmers have 'a shepherd's meet' and this is held in fields behind the wall. The fell in front of you is Kirk Fell and Great Gable is to the right.
Last night was camera club where some of us volunteered to be a 'judge' and talk about other member's photos. A great experience. For this exercise there were no winners and losers. Every photo I had to talk about were super-someone had taken each of them, so it meant something to them.
