The whole day through ...

Running rest-day ...

... I've mentioned before how much I adore Emily Dickinson's poetry, well here's another one from the earlier pictured 1993 collection, which I bought the following year.

Given the gloriously sunny-start to this morning in Edinburgh, thought this verse was rather appropriate; as it describes the arc of a day - of a life - and of so much more ...

The Red-Blaze-is the Morning

The Red-Blaze-is the Morning-
The Violet-is Noon-
The Yellow-Day-is falling-
And after that-is none-

But Miles of Sparks-at Evening-
Reveal the Width that burned-
The Territory Argent-that
Never yet-consumed-

(Emily Dickinson, 1862)

... I'm now looking forward to this evening's stars :-)
