Takedown
Millennia ago, I was captain of the university archery club. It was less a measure of competence than a measure of the size of the committee, and someone had to be captain.
It was a sport I'd picked up at uni, and subsequently introduced to my parents - who ended up being active shooters for longer than myself. For many years now, their kit has been lurking in the corner awaiting time and faded memories to reach a point where I would find it a new home. First off, though, was seeing what was in all the boxes and bags, and filtering out the rubbish.
Sad, but unsurprising, to see that what would have been a relatively local company now only exists in vintage archive film - and in stickers on Dad's bow. However, a different company, Quicks, is still very much active which is rather reassuring.
A take-down bow is one that come apart into a central 'riser' and two limbs. Makes transport much easier.
Made contact with the local archery club - mainly with the view of donating a lot of this.
