Sealed With a Kiss!
It has been quite some time since Mrs CBL and I have visited Newburgh and the Ythan Estuary for a walk so we decided to remedy that by heading down the coast to see some old friends.
There was a chill in the air but just the lightest of breezes to contend with as we strolled from the car park along, the new to us, boardwalk to the beach. What a difference it makes as the walkway wends its way through the dunes to one of the viewpoints in the area. Previously you had to clamber through the dunes to get to a vantage point where you could view the main attraction which most folks who come here want to see, seals!
The estuary is where one of the biggest haul-outs of seals in Scotland can be seen. There weren’t many seals out of the water as our visit didn’t coincide with the best time to see them. The highest number of seals come ashore between two hours before and two hours after low tide.
