Old and New

The day started with us pulling our spiky anti-slip covers onto our shoes to get the 50 metres from the house to our car. Smooth wet ice is stupidly slippery and we hoped once we reached the car our troubles would be over, A 100m slow drive to the road got us to the gritted road, and off we went.
Off to Kramfors in our 3 year-old red leased car. A little bank business, a few instructions and we drove away in our own newly purchased silver 3 year-old car. Both cars are 3 year-old Kia Niros but the new (to us) one is electric whereas the old (to us) car was a plug-in hybrid. The two cars ended up next to each other in the car park which made a suitable blip!  It felt good driving home in the new car - no more petrol for us! (The camper van uses diesel!)
Right next to the car showroom is a big charity shop so Jan felt she needed a quick browse there. Once inside we met our friend Karin. A quick phone call toher partner Lonny and the four of us met up in the delightful NC Café,  in the centre of Kramfors, for a bit of food and socialising.
We ended up driving home in the dark but that was no great hardship. Once home we found the slightly minus temperatures had laid frost crystals on the ice, making the path up to our house much less slippery.
