A Grand View

This is the view we see every time we approach our daughter's house in New Marske. It is from the top of Sandy Lane next to Errington Wood*. New Marske is to the right of the scene and the houses you can see are part of Redcar.

The mix of agricultural, industrial and seascape is so appealing to me. Barely visible to the extreme left of the horizon is Hartlepool. All the ships you can see are waiting to move into Teesport Docks. 

* I believe Errington Wood is where the old steel mines were back in the 19th Century and it is why my daughter's old miner's cottage was built.
