Wainfleet Magdalen Library
An early start this morning for a 9.30 meeting in Wainfleet.
My planning was on point and I took my landscape lens which meant I could get the whole of this magnificent grade 1 listed building in the shot.
I have always been fascinated by this building and even mores when I researched it. The Grade 1 Listed building is a scheduled ancient monument. William Patten known as William of Waynflete iin 1484. It was a school for seven boys to prepare them for Oxford.
I used to work in Wainfleet - when they had a youth club, and have always been fascinated by some of the quirkiness of the place. I remember wanting to park an activity bus on the Market Place and needed to get permission for it from the landowners - I was shocked to find out it Prince Charles - how on earth did that happen?? I still love the place, it has so much amazing architecture and is worthy of a visit. The fish n chips cooked in the coal fryer were good as well!!!
