Uninvited Guest

I found this guest in the bedroom midmorning. I don't know where it came from. The window had long been open in the early morning, so I guess thats when it flew in. With a little help of mine it could enjoy the outside freedom again, but not after being blipped. Since it's late November it will most likely not live much longer. It was rather big.
Not sure if it's a regular wasp or a hornet. 

Edit: After looking at a few pictures I now think it's a hornet.
