The Masked Ball displays at Polesden Lacey NT
This morning I went with a friend to Polesden Lacey NT House to see the Christmas decorations…the theme this year was a masked ball attended by the lady who used to own this house Mrs Greville. This was my favourite model…note the ‘dress’ is partly made of fir. There was also a very elaborately laid dining table of a Christmas Eve dinner she held in the house and various other rooms using historical data of events, guest list, menus etc.
Lots of water on the roads going there after more rain overnight and chilly again- 5 C. On the any back we popped into Garson Farm to see the ‘Narnia’ displays in the Christmas decorations section.
Later a quick trip to Kingston to collect some things I had ordered and tonight I am going to a talk run by the Teddington Society about the influence of the Blitz on gardening in London.
