Surprise, surprise!
Amelia had her British Figure Skating Championships competition in Sheffield today.
We had told them we couldn’t go as we had other things on but yesterday Frank said - Oh let’s drive to Sheffield and surprise them.
When we arrived at the ice rink I was desperate for a pee so went to the loo. When I came out of the cubicle Amelia and Lucy were waiting to go in - Iimagine their faces when I came out! ‘Grandma! We didn’t know you were coming! A friend of Sabrina’s came out of another cubicle and said,
‘I thought that was you Lizzie I recognised the laugh!
Amelia did amazingly well, not a single mistake and she skated so gracefully and confidently. She wasn’t a winner but got better marks than she’d ever had before. Happy girl!
I think 2 Russian girls got 1st and 2nd places and a girl from Nottingham came 3rd.
It was lovely to see our girls!
Lucy was waiting for Amelia to come back out, excited for her. She will have her first competition next March.
The journey there and back however was awful. So many traffic lights, it was stop and go, stop and go all the way there and even worse on the way back with long traffic queues.
Sabrina and the girls had the drive all the way up to Scotland.
Poor Bella was on her own all day but I had left a key and a big Whimzee treat with Bob and he popped round to let her out but she wouldn’t go.
He just gave her the treat and she was fine when we arrived home.
She just snoozes all day and listens to Music for Dogs ;-D
We’re really tired now so off to bed. Goodnight ;-) X
