Unwelcome surprise

Things didn’t go well today. The Aga service was in the morning, and a new gas feed was installed.
We went out for lunch while the Aga heated up, a visit to the Watermill. Rob had pheasant for a change and it was delicious.
Bonnie had a walk up the lane and met a few cows, and a playful Dalmation.
So far, so good.
The Aga was getting hot when we got home so we baked some mince pies. At bedtime, as the oven was at full temperature I decided to switch it to its automatic mode. This was unfortunate as there was a flash and a bang, and all the house electrics tripped.
Now we have no oven for market backing tomorrow…. I will see if our lovely new neighbours would lend us their kitchen!
