Parish council has dug two biggish holes on the field next to our property (the trees in the background are ours).
Behind me (from camera POV) is a horse field we rent from the parish council, so we have to now dodge around the holes. Just hope horses don't bolt & think they can go swimming.
It's all part of a scheme where people who want to build on 'fresh' green land, have to put an equivalent amount of land into a permanent environmentally friendly scheme. In this case, the two fields were 'given' to the parish council.
It would have made far more sense to dig the holes on our horse field as it is very wet almost all year, and we've even had to abandon parts of it due to the moisture conditions.
