"I have so much to tell you!"

Bean had a 10 minute explore on the other side of this big paddock today. Her tail was up and her head was down, nose to the ground. I sat on the grass path and took some time out while she pottered about in the distance. 

Then I looked up and suddenly she was hurtling full tilt towards me, full of excitement, wiggles and news about what she'd been sniffing out. 

At times like these I feel she is trying to convey to me how fantastic life is, how many amazing smells there are to discover, and how happy she is to see me. She does a pretty good job of communicating all of that. 

Once she'd told me the whole story we sat side by side for a few moments and contemplated our good fortune to be together in this lovely paddock, on a warm day, with a wonderful home to walk back to.

The rest of the day was (contented) background noise to those moments of perfection.
