Maintaining traditions
It is no wonder that there are still processions and all kinds of religious traditions in Spain if children are still receiving the kind of education you can see in this photo that I took today from the terrace of my ceramics workshop building.
I went to the terrace of the building because that is where the kiln is and we had to put some pieces in.
The photo shows a group of children from a nearby private Catholic school. The students, obviously organized by their teachers, had taken an image of the Virgin in procession through the school yard because today was the day of the patron saint of this school and they were singing hymns, poems and prayers in honour of their Virgin.
They seemed happy to be there. I don't know if their happiness was due to the fact that there were no classes that morning, to the good weather they were enjoying, to the possibility of chatting and laughing with their friends, or to their religious feelings.
