The view from the rectangular window

Mid distillery tour. Alas it is ‘resting’ today so I didn’t get to have a chat with one of the operators about boil up rates and reflux ratios, which was a bit disappointing*.
However the post tour tasting of four gins, a vodka and six different whiskies was much more to our liking.
Tacked back to the hotel clutching a box of goodies.
* on a chemical engineering note it was evident that there was a distinct lack of instrumentation on the plant, however a squint through the control room door suggested a dcs system with its computer screens.
