PANTO TIME - The Little Mermaid

Headed to Newcastle this afternoon to see the pantomime at the Theatre Royal.  Start time was 2pm.  I was a bit early so I had a little wander round before going to the theatre.  When I got to my seat the thestre was still quite empty but it soon filled up when all the schoolchildren and their teachers arrived.  I was sitting in the Grand Circle.  When I first went to the pantos here I sat for a few times in the Stalls but of course sitting there you are liable to get water chucked over you or sprayed on you plus confetti or foam etc so I decided to move out of range.

The main members of the cast have been performing the panto her for 19 years.  A lot of the sequences are the same every year but they are so good/ tried and tested that they are something you look forward to.  This years panto was very loosely based on the Little Mermaid but really the storyline doesn't matter - its all just a whole load of fun.  Ive added an Extra of the theatre in daylight before the panto and later on when I came out.

After the show I did a bit of shopping in Tesco then I went into the Grainger Indoor Market for fruit and veg. When I got to the bus stop I only waited a minute or two for my bus home.

It was a chilly day and I think it must have rained in my village this afternoon as the pavements were wet.  It didn't rain in Newcastle

PS Ive already booked for next years panto ( Aladdin ). You have to book early. Booking only opened to the general public on Tuesday and already most of the seats have gone for the afternoon matinees..  Bulk bookings by schools, groups, members etc take most of the seats every year.
