A Green Man

A quiet day which was much appreciated after the long days at the unit this week. The sculpture shown here is one of many in the front yard of a local house. The ones closer to the fenceline have taken my attention previously, and possibly it was more covered by vegetation. 

The Government has been criticised by the Waitangi Tribunal for closing a Maori Health initiative without due consultation. The Prime Minister (Mr Christopher Luxon) responded to this by saying that the National Party made it very clear that was their intention during the election campaign last year. Although the biggest party in the election, their share of the vote was only about 40%. If the election campaign is to be accepted as being consultation with Maori, surely the fact that National was soundly beaten into 3rd or even 4th in the Maori electorates is a firm rejection of national and its policies
