My new ebook.
I first read this book in 1963. It is a classic novel about the American political system. It was a best seller at the time.
Looking back I am surprised I had time to read its 700+ pages. I was in my first job. A very junior Lecturer in a Canadian Univrsity teaching British and American Goverment and Politics. I can well recall being up until midnight preparing lectures to give to 250 students the following day.
The book is still very topical as it is all about the machinations in the US Senate about whether to approve the President’s controversial nomination for the office of Secretary of State.

I enjoyed it back then and I am enjoying it again now.
