'A Little Happy Cabin!'
I came across 'The Joy of Painting' either on one of those 'poorly on the settee' occasions when you have to resort to afternoon television or in the graveyard slot of an early evening on an obscure channel. Quietly spoken Bob Ross was painting and imparting wise thoughts. Sadly, Bob had already died early (he was a heavy smoker throughout his life and died of lymphoma at 52) before I discovered him. On his programme telling us how to paint he was inevitably creating country scenes of mountains and forests, lakes and, yes, that 'happy little cabin' which sometimes arose out of a 'happy little accident' on his canvas. Bob was a one off.
I mentioned earlier in the week that friend Angela had spotted Bob's colouring book in a store in the US and as 'it had your name on it', it came home to me. I have rediscovered colouring in is very relaxing!
